Job Description 50% school-year School Social Worker or School Psychologist (beginning 8/23/12). Incumbent will assist with systems change to improve learning and support services for all students in the District; work with parents via meetings in the school, home visits, parent training and support groups; work with staff helping to create positive behavioral and social interventions for students; provide support and guidance in crisis management for students and staff; act as resource to staff, students and parents to help increase attendance, achievement, safety, as well as social-behavioral competencies of ALL students.? ? Qualifications Current Wisconsin DPI certification as a School Social Worker or a School Psychologist, background and previous experience working with special education services (early childhood through 8th grade); collaborative skills and philosophy to work with social services and other outside agencies; knowledge of how mental health issues affect student achievement; individual and group counseling skills with emphasis on mental health issues; collaborative and problem-solving skills to work with students, staff, parents and outside agencies; experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention Strategies (PBIS); bilingual.? ?
