From 24 to 27 September the Palais des Expositions d?Alger ? Safex in Algiers opens its gates for the 2nd plast alger & the 3rd printpack alger. Accompanied by a 3-day conference program and with more than 100 exhibitors from 16 countries these are the most important trade fairs for the plastics, printing and packaging industry for the largest country on the African continent. The events enjoy the patronage of the Algerian Ministry of Industry, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and of Investment Promotion. Both trade shows are organized by the trade fair specialist fairtrade Messe and its German-Algerian team.
More than 100 exhibitors from 16 countries take the opportunity for making valuable business contacts at Algeria?s No. 1 innovation platform for the plastics, printing and packaging industry. According to Kim Wolters, Project Manager with fairtrade, plast alger & printpack alger are the most important B2B-events for decision-makers from Algeria, to get in contact with cutting-edge solutions first, and to meet new suppliers. ?A major event bringing the two sides of supply and demand together for business,? states Wolters.
These claims are all backed with the figures of VDMA. In 2011 the exports of paper and packaging machinery went up by 43 per cent, from 46.7 Million US Dollars to 67.1 Million US Dollars. In the same period the imports of plastics machinery increased by 18 per cent, from 60.3 Million US Dollars to 71.2 US Dollars. Moreover the annual amount of imports of plastics machinery exceeded 70 Million US Dollar for the very first time.
At the 2nd plast alger, nine well-known enterprises of the Austrian plastics industry are among the exhibitors of the ?AWO / Expo Austria? group pavilion such as battenfeld-cincinnati, BSW Machinery, Chemson Polymer Additive, Corelco SAS, EREMA, Greiner Extrusion, Motan Colortronic, NGR Next Generation Recycling, Starlinger and Wittmann-Battenfeld. And for the first time, AVEP ? the Valencia Association of Plastic Producers organises an official pavilion consisting of 16 major Spanish companies active in plastics machinery and equipment, namely Alcion Pl?sticos, APPE/ ARTENIUS PET PACKAGING, ASCAMM-Fedit, Cipasi, Coscollola Engineering, FULTECH GROUP, Granzplast, Imvolca, Pl?sticos Guadalaviar, Recticel and Suminco. Besides the national pavilions further participating countries are: Algeria, Belgium, Canada, China, Egypt, Germany, France, India, Italy, Pakistan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia and Turkey.
The exhibitors of Algeria?s 3rd International Printing and Packaging Technology Trade Fair, printpack alger expect a B2B-audience of professionals from all over Algeria. Due to the targeted media campaign, the organisers look forward to welcome more than 2,000 visitors at the fairgrounds. In 2010, up to 70 per cent of the trade visitors were c-level attendees (CEOs and GMs; commercial, purchasing and technical directors; engineers). P.H. Gerbert, managing director of Saga reported, that printpack alger in 2010 was a very successful event to meet new clients and conclude business deals straight away on the stand and strengthen their brand towards existing clients and the overall Algerian market.
For the first time in North Africa, an Online Market Place has been established for an international plastic, printing & packaging exhibition. The plast alger & printpack alger interactive online community allows exhibitors and visitors to connect before, during and after the event.
