Ahead of Google?s scheduled event this week, it looks like the much rumored second generation Nexus 7 tablet is now appearing in a series of leaked press shots that leave no hardware details to the imagination. The revealing photos show that the tablet is ?longer and thiner [sic],? according to famed leakster?@evleaks, when compared to the original Nexus 7 slates offered today. The leakster estimates that the device will bear dimensions of 204.4 X 115.6 mm.
The thinner and longer dimensions may be accurate as earlier leaks of the slate show a device with slimmer side bezels that mimic what Apple had done on the 7.9-inch iPad mini to keep the illusion that the device is smaller than it appears. Samsung employed a similar strategy on its 8-inch third generation Galaxy Tab series that we had recently reviewed as well.
